Behind The Scenes

A deeper understanding of the processes and procedures within Faith Family.

Leaders Training

Maintaining strong and rich relationships between many people in a church community that continues to grow is a challenge. At Faith Family, we believe our church must grow larger and smaller at the same time - larger to reach as many people as possible with the life-giving message of Jesus and smaller to strengthen our value of “family”, our personal relationships with one another.

As we quote within our Connect Group Leaders Training, “our church is a church of Connect Groups, not a church with Connect Groups”. We base our Connect Group model on the early church as described in the book of Acts - as such, they are places where people are provided with a place to connect with others, to protect each other and to grow together.
We hold strong to the understanding that God designed us to live in community and that Connect Groups have one simple purpose - to bring people together. We also recognise that life growth tends to happen best in the context of others; that is, the full life that God has designed for us to live in is lived alongside genuine relationship with others.

Our Connect Group Leaders Training is a structured course that is designed to equip current and future Connect Group Leaders with the tools, understanding and values that Faith Family holds in relation to the way that we operate our Connect Groups. As straightforward as it may seem to organise a gathering of people, we look to take additional steps of consistency and accountability to ensure a high standard of safety, care and preparation across every Connect Group; we don’t want anyone to miss the opportunity to experience a healthy, strengthening and faith-filled community via a Connect Group, which is why we value the education and development found in Connect Group Leaders Training to help us achieve and maintain those values.

Connect Group Leaders Training covers general information, such as further detail into our Connect Group model, responses to Frequently Asked Questions, explanations of the values we hold towards the creation, maintenance and completion of a Connect Group and so on. It also tackles more specific queries, such as where to find support for your Connect Group, how frequently a Connect Group runs for (and what a healthy duration of a Connect Group can look like) and what is and is not appropriate content matter within Connect Groups. The Connect Group Leaders Training course is an extensive and thorough program that helps current and future Connect Group Leaders to feel supported and encouraged in their desire to lead a Connect Group.
