Phil Talk

A fresh word from Senior Pastor Phil Campbell every month.

“We are going to see a period that we have sown faithfully (and, for some of us, sacrificially) for; doesn’t mean it’s a given or that we can sit back and watch it happen, but we are going to see the fruits of our labour - we still need to labour, but the fruit is coming in.”

“I’m so excited for what we have at the start of this year. Again and again throughout the Word, there is an emphasis on the way we begin. There's a reason we celebrate Christmas and the Christmas story and then we hear, 13 years later, as Jesus goes back to Jerusalem - it’s important how we begin and it can help how we finish.

For us, as we look to begin this year, I believe God has dropped into my heart, from February through to May, that we are going to see the harvest. We are going to see a period that we have sown faithfully (and, for some of us, sacrificially) for; doesn’t mean it’s a given or that we can sit back and watch it happen, but we are going to see the fruits of our labour - we still need to labour, but the fruit is coming in.

Across our Connect Groups, across our services, across our Mission platforms, across the Serve Team that we are working with in each location, we are going to see an amazing outpouring of God’s presence, but also His promise - we are going to see fruit.

We’re believing for salvation, we’re believing for addition to the team, we are believing for disciples and Connect Groups - each of these areas that we know make up the life of a healthy church to see growth come. I’m really excited about how we’ll begin this year and it will help us to determine what it looks like for us from February through May.

Our first Sunday in February - Vision Sunday - we’ll be putting into place those that serve with us and on our behalf as a part of the daycare; we’ll be opening the new Poppies room that we, as an organization, have invested approximately $350,000 into over the last 12 months - the return we are hoping for is to have paid back that sum inside an 18-month period to continue to sow into other areas that we are looking to see growth within across the organization.

Please make sure to plan to join us and celebrate these new developments, as well as to encourage and include our long day-care community!”
