Services
“One church, many expressions” is a term that has been used to describe the various services that are held across Faith Family Churches. This month’s Value of interest is based on the variety of services and the reasons behind such diversity in expression and worship.
Across the five locations of Faith Family Church (Coffs Harbour, Taree, Grafton, Gloucester, and Online), there are different types of services held every week. Here’s what a regular week’s services can look like:
Wednesday night - Prayer Service (Coffs Harbour location)
Friday night - Youth Service (Coffs Harbour and Taree locations)
Sunday morning - Family Service (Coffs Harbour, Taree, Grafton, and Gloucester locations), Ministry Service (Coffs Harbour location), Online Service (from Coffs Harbour location)
Instead of operating a single church service across the week with only one style and method of sharing the Word, we utilise many types with many differences!
At a Prayer Service, there is typically no preaching, but rather the time is spent in individual and collective prayer for various needs across our community and outward.
Youth Services have great variation from a service that runs on Sunday - with the inclusion of high-energy games and organised aspects of time spent with youth before and after the service, Youth on a Friday night can feel very different to church on a Sunday morning (however, similar elements of service are still noticeable - praise and worship, a message, announcements, and elements of tithing/giving and communion are still present).
Even on Sunday, the Family Services that operate across the locations differ from another service that runs simultaneously in the Coffs Harbour location: the Ministry Service.
These variations in Services aren’t to differentiate us or to separate us as a Faith Family; rather, they are to celebrate the different expressions of worship that each of us shares and values as many parts of one body of Christ - different services throughout the week allow for different people to know God, find freedom, discover their purpose, and make a difference in different ways!
