Finances and Admin

An outline of the current financial situation.

  • Giving, Tithes & Offerings

In all locations Tithes and Offerings have been strong through the Christmas and holiday period.

    Bali - $56700

Chile - $440 was raised to help Chile INC refit their building after the fire.

Global Care - $7964 was donated through our benevolent fund to members of our community in need in the last quarter of 2021.

  • Daycares

For January, the daycare occupancy rate at Coffs Harbour was 92% and Taree was 81%. This is a strong start to the year, as children tranistion to school we see a drop in numbers which then build up as new children start.

Cash flow is traditionally tight over the New Year period and into February, as the daycares are closed from Christmas to New Years and there is no income, but we are still paying wages for 70+ staff.

Over December / January a new room opened in Coffs Harbour to increase our capacity.

  • Projects & Loans

Most of the large fixed asset items were paid for in the last quarter including

    • Coffs Harbour Daycare extension

    • Coffs Harbour Daycare carpark resurface

    • Electrical upgrade

These funds came from a new consolidation loan which includes the previous daycare loan which was nearly paid off and the above items.

  • Staff Changes

We have 95 staff employed in Faith Family , with 77% in Early Learning, 10% as church support staff, and 13% as pastoral staff.

Coffs Early Learning - Over November and December, 7 new staff were hired to cover for staff that could not work changes in the law and also to cater for the increased capacity of the centre. Brett Touzel was welcomed back as the new cook. Brett had previously worked for 14 years as the “maintenance man.” We have also be joined by Tony Fuller in January as the new Maintenance person for the daycare as Matt Touzel left at the end of the year. We all miss him and wish him the best.

Taree Early Learning - Three new educators started with us in the November December period.

Coffs Church - Bri is now on Maternity Leave, and we welcome Mac to the family! Bri’s position in the finance team is being covered by Michaela.

  • Heart 4 the House (H4H)

Coffs Harbour’s 2021 Heart for the House (H4H) campaign raised $22,981 for renovation work for the 30+ year old kitchen. We also had some work and materials donated. The final cost for the kitchen is $49,107, with the difference coming from savings. You can see the details in the Projects article.

Grafton’s H4H 2021 campaign raised $2250 and was invested in a new church office and furnishings for the teen room.

Taree’s H4H 2021 campaign raised $2465 and was invested in replacement technology and lighting for the auditorium.

  • System changes

Since December, both daycares are now on the same CCS management system (HubHello) which has made reconciling parent payments a lot easier.

Since November, both daycares are also using the same rostering system (TANDA) which has begun to streamline the payroll process for the 75 daycare staff.
